Hi, I’m Josh.  I created southpawhikes.com to journal my hiking, adventuring, and other nonsense.   Southpaw because I’m left handed and coming up with a domain name is tough.

In 2011 I had my first experience with thru hiking on the Long Trail in Vermont.  Two friends and I hiked from the US/Canada border to the Vermont/Massachusetts border over the course of 31 days.

In April 2017 my girlfriend Sara and I will begin a northbound thru hike attempt of the Pacific Crest Trial.
